Operating Instructions
1. Installation Requirements
- Align the launder dam with the JINYI launder’s pre-installed guide rails, ensuring horizontal error ≤0.5mm (use a level to calibrate)—avoid uneven stress on the dam liner.
- Install ceramic fiber paper (provided by JINYI) in the sealing grooves around the dam, ensuring full contact with the launder inner wall—preventing molten aluminum leakage from gaps.
- For pneumatic/electric dams: Connect the air pipe/power cable to the designated interface, and test the opening/closing action 3-5 times to ensure smooth movement.
2. Pre-Use Inspection
- Check the dam liner for cracks, chips, or foreign matter—replace immediately if damaged.
- For manual dams: Verify that the handwheel rotates smoothly, with no jamming in the worm gear mechanism.
- For pneumatic dams: Check air pressure (0.4-0.6 MPa) and air pipe tightness—no air leakage allowed.
- For electric dams: Calibrate the servo motor’s limit positions (fully open/closed) to avoid overtravel damage.
3. Operation & Maintenance
- When blocking molten aluminum: Lower the dam slowly (speed ≤10mm/s) to avoid splashing; monitor the molten aluminum level upstream—do not exceed 80% of the launder height.
- When releasing molten aluminum: Raise the dam at a uniform speed (manual: 1-2 turns/s of handwheel; pneumatic/electric: 5-10mm/s) to control flow rate.
- Daily Maintenance: After shutdown, clean the dam liner surface with a wooden scraper (no metal tools) to remove residual slag; apply a thin layer of JINYI’s BN coating every 7 days to maintain non-stick performance.
4. Replacement of Dam Liner
- When the liner shows obvious erosion (wear depth ≥5mm) or cracks, stop using it immediately.
- Remove the metal clamping frames, take out the old liner, and install the new one—ensure it fits tightly in the frame without gaps.
